Pennys Story

???What Happened???

On March 19th, Penny went to the ER after a week of illness. Her condition was worse than expected. Her blood platelets and white blood count were extremely low. She was put on the Oscillator Ventilator and diagnosed with two viruses: Rhino Virus and human metapneumovirus, causing pneumonia. Her immune system couldn't fight them off. After three weeks on the ventilator, she started improving. On April 4th, she was diagnosed with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia, a common type of leukemia. Treatment will last 2.5 years, with the first 8 months being the toughest. The day she got the diagnosis they began treatment for the Leukemia.

???What Now???

Penny recently emerged from a month-long medically induced coma and is now recovering at home. Her treatment continues, and she will face the most challenging phase starting on August 1st. This phase, called delayed intensification, lasts for 56 days and will likely result in hair loss. Currently, there are approximately 4 months remaining in her harsher treatment. Penny is eager to return to normal as she has always been a social butterfly, but for now, she remains quarantined at home.

All funds will be given to help with medical bills, food, diapers and any other expenses during this time.
